After a successful summer campaign for Xscape, we created an experiential activity for their Christmas period with on and offline elements.
Xscape challenged us to create a footfall driving, fun and festive event that allowed for data capture and an opportunity to promote and sell the new gift card offering, whilst reinforcing a positive brand experience.
Our answer to the brief was the ‘Xscape Cyclone Challenge’. This high octane, engaging activity ran for the first three weekends in December alongside a gift card promotional area and Facebook competition.
The event was an exciting race against the clock activity where customers stepped into a giant wind machine and had 30 seconds to catch as many blue balls as possible, avoiding the white (snow)balls!. We captured each person’s data prior to taking part, with participants trying to achieve the highest score in order to win a £100 Xscape gift card.
In order to engage a wider audience, we also created an animated, interactive video for a Facebook competition. The ‘pause to win’ mechanic was designed to mirror the experience of the cyclone in order to promote in centre activity and also allow people the chance to win a £50 Xscape gift card online.
In addition to these engagement points, we provided dedicated brand ambassadors to promote,educate and sell Xscape gift cards as the perfect Christmas present. As part of this, the brand ambassadors were positioned as ‘customer experience representatives’ to ensure the most positive service was received throughout the centre at this busy time of year.
