Having worked with the RFL for over a year now we have handled the management of Fan Zones at their largest events including, Magic Weekend. We were asked by the RFL to design, build and manage a Fan Park.
Hosted at the home of Rugby Union club, Coventry Wasps. Our task was to create a fun and exciting indoor Fan Park for fans to enjoy in the build up to both games. To make the day enjoyable and good value for fans we planned and organised activities such as a cyclone machine, inflatable try-line, a rodeo rugby ball and a number of rugby themed games.
A central part of the entertainment provided was the hosting of the stage by Rugby AM. The hosts called out winners from our fan favourite, Wall of White prize draw, giving away signed Super League shirts every 15 minutes and introduced performances from the band, Wired, and the Rugby League Rockettes.
We worked closely with the team at the Ricoh Arena to successfully design an efficient site plan to make the most use of the designated area. The organisation of the event also consisted of creating all necessary health and safety documentation for the event and for each activity within the Fan Park. We worked with security and food and beverage staff at the Ricoh Arena to manage the crowds in the Fan Park and efficiently complete the bump out at the end of the event.
The Fan Park was a huge success with a total footfall of 6,000 and a peak footfall of 2,500 before the England v Scotland match started. We were thrilled to be a part of such a prestigious event for the Rugby Football League, and to continually enhance customer experience through the development of their Fan Parks.
