With Christmas approaching, Plusnet came to us with two briefs. The first to deliver a digital Christmas campaign bigger and better than ever before. And the second to shout about their new partnership with Internet Matters, an organisation dedicated to promoting child safety online.
2017 saw Jingle Dogs come to life, so we decided to build on the equity made with our existing pooch filled campaign and bring a twist to another festive classic.
With a brief to deliver a digital Christmas campaign integrated across social media and a dedicated online presence, Santa Paws was born. The campaign included;
- Creative design
- Custom built online game
- Comprehensive social media planning and delivery
- Writing and recording our second Christmas single!
The online digital game was inspired by the iconic ‘Flappy Birds.’ Santa Paws saw our canine friends take to the skies, with a new addition (Leo the Labrador) added to the ranks. Their helicopter Santa hats had the dogs dodging chimneys, collecting presents and flying through the night sky – rivalling the reindeer!
With participants having the chance to get their hands on some amazing tech prizes, it’s a great incentive to take part. We saw thousands of game plays in the campaign’s first week!
Safe and Sound
Christmas is always an exciting time for children, with exciting new devices being given as gifts. From the latest phones, to games consoles and AI powered home devices. With so many more devices being used by more children than ever, Plusnet forged a partnership with Internet Matters, an organisation dedicated to helping parents keep their children safe online.
To help Internet Matters communicate online safety to as many parents as possible, we challenged parents to ‘Keep their device on the nice list.’ This involved presenting a digital quiz prompting parents to think about how every electronic device they own may have an impact on their child’s safety. The digital quiz was promoted through social media, allowing us to target effectively.
Working closely with both Plusnet and Internet Matters, we managed the concept creation, creative development, microsite build and social media. From planning to implementation, we took care of it. Taking inspiration from Santa’s ‘Naughty or Nice’ list, we brought the magic of Santa and Christmas to the campaign, motivating parents to take part and encouraging children to be engaged with using their devices in a safe way.
To top it off, we even gave parents the opportunity to download a personalised letter from Santa to give to their child, delivering an extra motivating factor to take part and make safe internet use memorable.
So it’s been a very festive Christmas here for us and Plusnet, and after outstanding success after the campaigns launched with thousands of users taking part across both campaigns, we can’t wait to see the results after the festive period is finished. Our exceptional engagement will certainly be something to look forward to in the new year!
