Genting Casinos is the main club sponsor for Aston Villa FC. In order to maximize the commercial potential from this sponsorship, Banana Kick has worked with Genting to develop a new brand, ‘Villa Moments’. As it’s name would suggest, the brand provides the opportunity for Aston Villa fans to share experiences of their favourite club via a Villa Moments facebook page. It’s a portal where fans can post interesting pics, share their views, a little nostalgia and win Villa prizes, courtesy of Genting Casinos.

Club assets such as player access and VIP experiences are usually reserved for corporate guests, but Villa Moments provides these and other exclusive money can’t buy opportunities for the fans. Exclusive prizes have included a ‘Bodymoor Heath Player Training Ground Experience’ and ‘Dinner with Darren Bent’.
Villa Moments is powered by a facebook App built by Banana Kick, providing regular exclusive competitions and new features aimed to provide an experience, which brings fans closer to their team. It’s been promoted at key home games, using the many marketing opportunities available at Villa Park, together with some Experiential tactics. Notable eyebrow raising activity has included canons firing T-Shirts into the crowd and huge foam hands!
Such engagement and activation with the fans has helped to raise the perception of Genting Casinos as a sponsor and delivered valuable marketing data through ongoing competition entries.
